The AUTOLAYER predefines the association between object type and the layer that should be created in a drawing.
How to add layers and dimension styles from other drawings to the current drawings?
There are a few concepts about layer that need to be clarified: layer 0, Layer Defpoints, Layer Filter, Layer States Manager,
CAD users can put different geometric objects on different layers and control the color, linetype, lineweight and other properties by customizing the layer properties. The properties of some CAD objects are set bylayer by default and putting those objects on the specific layers will save you time and there is no need to customize them respectively.
In lower version of CAD, when graphics objects cover each other, we’ll need to set sequence for them and make text, dimension and some graphics objects show on top and make other objects show in the bottom. Higher version of CAD provides transparency settings, so we can add transparency to graphics objects when they cover each other and we can see through the intersection part.
Layer is an important concept in CAD and to better understand layer and the related concepts such as current layer. The CAD program has not only current layer, but also current color, current linetype, current text style, current dimension style, current table style, etc.
We have known that layer 0 is the default CAD layer, but what’s the difference between layer 0 and other layers?
Abstract: We have learned some basics about Layer in my previous post and learned how to change the color, linetype, and lineweight. Here comes the […]
What we can do with Layer With Layer, we can organize complex objects or graphics in good order. We can change the color, linetype, lineweight, […]
