Trim Command for beginner

The Trim Command is one of the frequently used operations to modify the drawings and can be used to trim objects in order to make it join with other objects.

For example, we can remove the unnecessary parts using Trim command,

How to access the command

Ribbon: Home > Modify > Trim

Menu: Modify > Trim

Enter command: Trim

Step by step tutorial

After executing the Trim command, we’ll be prompted to select certain objects or select all, as shown in the following picture,

After selecting the objects, we’ll be prompted to select object to trim, as shown in the following picture,

  • Just select object to trim, as shown in the following picture,
  • Shift to extend

In the prompts, there is also an option “or shift-select to extend”, for example, I mistakenly trim an object that I actually need to keep, as shown in the following picture,

Here I can press SHIFT key to extend it,
