New 3D functionality in GstarCAD 2021: CONVTOMESH

CONVTOMESH Command is used to convert 3D objects to mesh objects. The objects are smoothed upon conversion

How to access the CONVTOMEHS Command

  1. When using 2D Drafting workspace,

Mesh > Convert to Mesh, as shown in the following picture,

2. When using GstarCAD Classic workspace,

Modify > Surface Editing > Convert to Mesh, as shown in the following picture,

3. Enter CONVTOMESH and press Enter key to execute the command, as shown in the following picture,

A step-by-step tutorial

After executing the CONVTOMESH Command, we are prompted to select objects to be converted,

The objects that can be converted to mesh include:

Solids

Closed polylines

Regions

3D faces

3D surfaces

Polygon meshes
