GstarCAD 2021 new 3D functionality: CONVTONURBS

CONVTONURBS is used to convert 3D solids and surfaces into NURBS surfaces.

How to access CONVTONURBS Command

  1. When using 2D Drafting workspace,

Surface > Convert to NURBS, as shown in the following picture,

2. When using GstarCAD Classic workspace,

Modify > Surface Editing > Convert to NURBS, as shown in the following picture,

3. We can enter “CONVTONURBS”, then press Enter key to execute,

CONVTONURBS is easy to use !

After executing the command, we are prompted to select objects to convert, as shown in the following picture,

See Before and After the CONVTONURBS of a 3D solid box and a cone, as shown in the following picture,

To convert a mesh to nurbs, we’ll need to convert it to solid or surface using CONVTOSOLID or CONVTOSURFACE, we can then use CONVTONURBS to convert.
