The Extend Command is one of the frequently used options to modify the drawing and can be used to extend object and make it connect with other objects in order to join with them.
For example, we can extend one line to make the following object a closed one,

Ribbon: Home > Modify > Extend, as shown in the following picture,
Menu: Modify > Extend, as shown in the following picture,
Enter EXTEND and press Enter key
Step by step tutorial
After executing the Extend command, we’ll be prompted to select certain objects or select all, as shown in the following picture,
After selecting the objects, we’ll be prompted to select object to extend, as shown in the following picture,

2. Shift to Trim
In the prompts, there is also an option “or shift-select to trim”, for example, after I extended the object, the line extrude a little bit, as shown in the following picture,
