The REGENAUTO command is used to control automatic regeneration of drawings.

After executing the REGENAUTO command, the following prompts are display.

ON

As we can see, the default is setting is ON, which regenerates the drawing immediately if there are any supressed regenerations and the CAD system creates automatic regenerations whenever you perform an action that requires regeneration.

OFF

When the setting is OFF, the CAD system is prevented from regenerating drawings until you use the REGEN or REGENALL command, or set REGENAUTO to ON.
