How to use the Scale command in CAD?

Scale command is used to zoom in or out the selected objects, keeping the proportions the same after scaling.

How to access SCALE command ?

When using 2D Drafting workspace, find Home tab > Modify Panel > Scale, as shown in the following picture,

When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find Modify> Scale, as shown in the following picture,

or just enter SCALE,

After executing the command, we’re prompted to select an object,

After selecting an object to scale, we’re prompted to select a base point, which serves as the scaling center and remains in the same position,

After specifying a base point, we then are prompted to specify a scale factor:

The selected object will shrink if the scale factor is between 0 and 1; the selected object will enlarge if the scale factor is bigger than 1. Alternatively, we can drag the cursor to make the object larger or smaller, which is very convenient.

If we choose Copy, a copy of the selected objects is created

If we choose Reference, the selected objects are scaled based on a reference length and a specified new length.
