How to understand Verify and Preset when defining an attribute?

The Verify and Preset parameters are not easy to understand, because we can barely see the difference before and after we make change to them.

When you hover your mouse over Verify and Preset and you can see the following texts:

Verify: Prompts you to verify that the attribute value is correct when you insert the block.

Preset: Sets the attribute to its default value when you insert a block containing a preset attribute.

To better understand how they actually work, we can create a block and add four attribute values to it, as shown in the following picture,

After creating the block, I inserted a block and the four attributes appears in the popped-up dialog box.

Why is that?

The dialog box can be controlled via ATTDIA variable, and it’s set to 0, the dialog won’t show, instead, we are prompted to enter the attribute value in the command line.
