Commonly used CAD command: COPYBASE

The COPYBASE command is used to copy object together with specified base point to clipboard.

How to access COPYBASE command

  1. Enter “COPYBASE”, as shown in the following picture,

2. When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find

Edit > Copy with Base Point, as shown in the following picture,

3. Enter shortcut: SHIFT + CTRL + C, or we can right click on the drawing area, click “Clipboard” option, and then select “Copy with Base Point” option, as shown in the following picture,

After executing the COPYBASE command, we are prompted to specify base point, as shown in the following picture,

Then we are prompted to select object, as shown in the following picture,

Users could use PASTECLIP command to move copied object from one file to another or change position of object in one file. When pasting copied object by COPYBASE command, it will place selected object by specified base point.
