Beginner Tutorial: How to draw a helix with Helix command?
The HELIX command is one of most common commands that creates a 2D helix or 3D spring. This post is all about the basics about HELIX commad, which is very helpful for newbies.
This command is used to create a 2D helix or 3D spring.
How to access the HELIX command ?
- When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find Draw > Helix, shown as below,

- When using 2D Drafting workspace, find Home tab > Draw panel > Helix, shown as below,

- or just enter HELIX, and press then press Enter key,

After executing the command, specify center point of base in the drawing area, then specify base radius and top radius,

Then you’re prompted to specify helix height, Axis endpoint, Turns, turn Height, or twist, shown as below,

For example, if you want to change the turn number, just enter t, then press Enter key, and enter the turn number, like 6, then press Enter key again, voila, see the result,

Then specify the helix height, then adjust view, the following is SW Isometric view,
