About using FIELD in GstarCAD

The FIELD command is used to create multiple texts with fields. The text automatically update as the field changing.

How to access FIELD ?

  1. When using 2D Drafting workspace,

Insert tab > Data Palette > Field, as shown in the following picture,

2. When using GstarCAD Classic workspace,

Insert > Field, as shown in the following picture,

3. Enter “FIELD”, then press Enter key,

A step-by-step tutorial

  1. Insert FIELD directly

After executing the FIELD command, the following dialog box would pop up,

Inserting preset field is very simple, just select the filed name from the left list, and then choose a example from the right list, then click OK to confirm.

There are many preset fields on the list, so to find the field we need as soon as possible, we can first choose the field category, for example, we can choose “Plot” or “Date & Time”, as shown in the following picture,

Then we are prompted to specify start point, as shown in the following picture,

The field text differentiate itself from regular text with grey background.

Double-click the filed will pop up the Text Formatting dialog box, we can add other text based on field text.

2. Insert field into multiple line text or single line text

Right click when creating multiple line text or single text, the list contains “Insert Field”,
