If you have received nonstandard drawings, in which many object properties are not set to bylayer, which makes it hard to edit and control your drawing, then try SETBYLAYER.

The SETBYLAYER command is used to change the property overrides of selected objects to ByLayer.

How to access the command

When using 2D Drafting workspace, find Home > Modify > Change to ByLayer, as shown in the following picture,

When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find Modify > Change to ByLayer, as shown in the following picture,

Or just enter “SETBYLAYER”, shown as below,

If no objects are selected, the following prompt is displayed,

If you select Settings option, the SetBylayer Settings dialog box will be displayed, in which you can specify which object properties are set to Bylayer, shown as below,

If objects are selected, the following prompt is displayed,

Include blocks option specifies whether to apply changed to blocks.
