How to create a solid 3D box with BOX Command
The BOX command is used to create solid 3D boxes, that is to say, cubes.
In this previous post, https://blog.gstarcad.net/how-to-use-extrude-command-to-create-3d-objects/, we’ve talked about how to turn 2D objects into 3D objects using EXTRUDE Command. By using BOX Command, we can directly create boxes very conveniently.
How to access the BOX Command?
- When using 2D Drafting workspace, find 3D tab > Modeling panel > Box command, shown as below,

- When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find Draw > Modeling > Box, shown as below,

- Or just enter BOX, shown as below,

After executing the BOX command, we are prompted to specify first corner or center, as shown in the following picture,

After specifying first corner, we then are prompted to specify other corner, as shown in the following picture,

Please note that this plane made by the specified first corner and other corner is parallel to XY plane of current UCS.
We then can specify the height of the box we want to create by inputting Z value, which could either be positive or negative, as shown in the following picture,
