What is M2LVPORT?
The M2LVPORT or Layout Viewport allows us to create a viewport on layout space by selecting objects from the model space and locate the viewport somewhere we’ve chosen in the layout space. By doing this, we can quickly create and setup a viewport for the current drawing.
How to access M2LVPORT?
There are two ways to access the M2LVPORT:
- From Menu: View > Model Viewports > Layout Viewport (M2LVPORT), as shown in the following picture,
2. By entering command “M2LVPORT”, as shown in the following picture,
A step-by-step tutorial
After executing the Layout Viewport or M2LVPORT, the following dialog box will pop up,
Then define viewport scale and the Graphics Extents.
After clicking OK, we are able to window select objects by specifying the first corner and the opposite corner, as shown in the following picture,
Then we are prompted to select the layout and place the viewport, as shown in the following picture,
After you’ve selected the layout, you are prompted to specify the insertion point for the viewport, as shown in the following picture,
