Troubleshooting: Why selected objects shows no grips

There are mainly two reasons for the problem: the selected objects have too many grips, or the grip display is turned off.

a circle is selected and grips are displayed
all objects are selected but no grips

By default, there is a limit for display of grips when selecting objects, which can be customized via the Options dialog box shown as below,
