How to bind interior design to building floor

After creating floor plans and visualizing rooms in Houseplan, the next step you want to take may be binding interior design entities such as wall, rooms and doors to the building floors.

Why its important to bind interior design to building floors?

The entities that you created for interior design such as walls, rooms and doors need to be bound to the building floor they are placed on so that you can hide or unhide them together with the corresponding floor.

The following picture shows a beautiful residential building,

Imagine what happens if we hide this residential building using Hide Selected (H), shown as below,

We can see from the picture below that the interior designs are left behind after we hide the building, and the reason for this is that the interior designs are not bound to the building floor. So to avoid this, we’ll need to bind the interior designs to building floors so that they can be hidden or appear accordingly.

How to bind interior design to corresponding building floor?

Click the red-windowed button next to the “Floor properties” option in the Properties panel, select the floor to be bound in the popped up “Floor Properties” dialog box, and click “Define floor” button to bind all the interior entities (You don’t have to select all of them in order to bind) to the corresponding floor.

A small tip:

Pressing the SHIFT key enables you to bind the interior entities to multiple building floors that you specified.
