CAD users often need to repeat several commands such as Circle and Line. To make it more efficient, the CAD system has provided many ways.
- Press Space key or Enter key
If we have just executed a command, then pressing the Space key or Enter key will allow us to repeat it very conveniently.
2. Arrow keys: Up arrow & Down arrow
If the command we want to repeat is not the last one we use, we can use arrow keys to find from a list of recently used commands. Press the up or down arrow keys on your keyboard to move between the first and last commands used.
This method is not very efficient, but if you’re finding a command with longer name, or you’re not very sure about the command, then you can try this one.
3. Right-click menu
This method gives us a clear list of recently used commands.
Although the right-click menu is simple and clear, it’s not very efficient. First, right-click to open the menu, then move the cursor to the command to be repeated and click it. If the right-click menu is disabled, the right mouse button can be used as the Enter key, and using right-click will repeat the previous command. We can also do customization settings to right-click, shown as below,
If you want to close the right-click menu, just uncheck “shortcut menus in drawing area”. If you want to set the right-click action according to timing or different modes, click the “Right-click Customization” button to open the”Right-Click Customization” dialog box. The default value for Longer click duration is 250 milliseconds which becomes editable after checking “Turn on time-sensitive right-click”. You can directly change the settings. Whether you use the default settings or change the settings, you need to try a few more times by yourself to get a feel for what fast clicks and slow clicks mean. If you can control it well, this is also a good method. The role of the right click button can be fully utilized. As for the options of Default Mode, Edit Mode, and Command Mode, if you are interested, you can try them.
