How to copy elements from external reference files and block with NCopy

NCopy command is used to copy objects that are contained in an external reference, block, or DGN underlay.

Users can copy selected objects into the current drawing without exploding or binding an external reference, block or DGN underlay.

How to access NCopy command

·When using GstarCAD Classic workspace, find Express > Copy Nested Objects, shown as below,

·When using 2D Drafting workspace, find Express > Blocks > Copy Nested Objects (NCOPY), shown as below,

·Or just enter NCOPY in the command line, and press Enter key,

After executing the command, users get the following prompt:

Users need to specify the component of an external reference, block or underlay that you want to copy.

Other prompts are:

Specify base point

Users need to set the point to be used as a base point for placing the copied objects.

Second point

In combination with the first point, users need to specify a vector that indicates how far and in what direction, the selected objects are moved.

Displacement

Users can specify the distance and direction by coordinates.

The specified two points define a vector, it indicates the position and direction that copied objects moved to.

GstarCAD 2026 has introduced a new DWG Compare tool designed to eliminate the manual effort of identifying revisions between drawing versions. By using the COMPARE command, the software automatically highlights additions in red, deletions in green, and identical elements in gray using revision clouds. This feature streamlines the proofreading process for architects and engineers, allowing for instant visual verification of changes across any DWG file.
