The PDF to DXF feature allows users to convert PDF files to .dxf files directly in GstarCAD.
What are PDF and DWG/DXF files?
PDF stands for Portable Document Format, a file format developed by Adobe in the 1990s. It’s a versatile file format that is popular across different systems and devices to present documents, including text formatting and images.
DXF is a file format for 2D and 3D drawings and models that stands for Drawing Exchange Format. It supports various CAD programs. With DXF, users can easily share data between CAD and other software.
DWG is a file format used for storing 2D and 3D drawings, model data, and metadata. It is one of the most frequently used CAD file formats and the native file type for many mainstream CAD software.
Why converting PDF to DWG/DXF is necessary?
Converting PDF to DWG/DXF is essential for CAD users because this allows users to edit the design data contained in the static PDF files. While PDF files are viewable, they lack the editability required for CAD workflows.
