The background color of different versions of CAD system doesn’t remain unchanged over the years. However, the settings of different colors may be confusing for some beginners, so let’s explore the settings of color in your CAD system together.
How to change the background color of model space
- Firstly, we need to open the Options dialog box, as shown in the following picture,
To open it, we can either enter OP and then press Enter key or just right click the drawing area and select Options, as shown in the following picture,
2. Click the “Color” button in the “Display” to open “Drawing Window Colors” dialog box, as shown in the following picture,
As we can see in the dialog box, the default background color for 2D model space is black, to change the color, just choose your preferred one from the list, as shown in the following picture,
If you haven’t found your preferred color, just click the “Select Color” option to pop up the dialog box, as shown in the following picture,
How to modify the paper background and drawing/layout space color?
Setting up color for layout space is basically the same as setting up the model space except that it has two colors that can be modified: paper background and drawing/layout space color.
Take the following picture as an example, the paper background color is grey and the layout space color is white.
As shown in the opened “Options” dialog box, the default color for layout is white,
And the default color for paper background is grey, as shown in the following picture,
Now we can start choosing the color we prefer just like we choose the color the model space!
