How to select two types of objects at the same time ?

Selecting objects of the same type is easy, but what if I want to select two types of objects at the same time, for example, I want to select circles and lines, what should I do ?

  1. Select two types of objects with QSELECT

Although we can only select one object type for QSELECT, but we can do it twice. For example, If we want to select all the circles and lines in the drawing, we can select circles using QSELECT, shown as below,

2. Click OK and all the circles will be selected, shown as below,

Then execute QSELECT again. In the last selection, all circles are selected and the “Apply to” section will change to “Current selection”, so we need to change it to “Entire drawing”; then select “Line” for the “Object type”; select “Select All” for Operator and check the checkbox before “Append to current selection set”, shown as below,

Click OK to confirm and all the circles and lines in the drawing will be selected, shown as below,

2. Select two types of object using FI (FILTER)

Enter FI and press Enter key to open the following dialog box, select “Circle” from“Select Filter”, then click “Add to List” to add circle to the list, shown as below,

If there are many object types in the drawing, it might take the Object Selection Filters longer to filter, we can click the “Add Selected Object <” button and select an circle at the following prompt,

but this will add all filterable properties to the list, shown as below, we need to delete the other properties,

Then add line object to the list, shown as below,

But this is not enough, we need to select “Objects=Circle” and then select “Begin OR” from the “Select List”, shown as below,

Click “Add to List” button to add the operator to the list, and select the line under “Objects=Line” and add “End OR” there, shown as below,

Click “Apply” button, then we can use window selection to specify the drawing area, and all the circles and lines within that drawing area will be filtered and selected,
